,,Pina” Wim Wenders

PINA is a feature-length dance film in 3D with the ensemble of the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, featuring the unique and inspiring art of the great German choreographer Pina Bausch, who died in the summer of 2009. PINA is directed by Wim Wenders (Buena Vista Social Club, Wings of Desire), who was a long-standing friend of Pina’s. Wenders began to systematically view the new generation of digital 3D cinema and in 2008 together with Pina Bausch to consider the realisation of their shared dream.
PINA has been lauded by the critics with comments such as “this movie is so beautiful it aches”, “thrilling and revelatory” and “this is the beginning of a whole new use of 3D.”
